Golden Delicious apples, grated with skin
2/3
c
Currants

c
2 % milk

Egg whites

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder and cinnamon.
  2. Use two knives to cut margarine into a dry mixture until crumbly.
  3. Stir in oatbran, grated apple, and currants.
  4. In a measuring cup, whisk together 4 egg whites with milk.
  5. Mix egg mixture into oatbran mixture until moistened.
  6. Grease large cookie sheet and spread dough so that it is approximately 1 inch thick, 9 inches wide and 15 inches long.
  7. Score the dough into at least 18 squares.
  8. Bake at 375 deg F for 25-30 minutes.
  9. Best served warm with jam.
